  Shalom
  to you,

Rick Wills - Messianic Elder,
  Mishareth@TorahWellsprings.org

In order that we may have unity, and that we all speak the same thing regarding the foundation of our faith, and that we present our witness of Yeshua the Messiah with mutual integrity, let this establish that Wellsprings of Torah and its members, as a Messianic Congregation, uphold the following...

Emunoth, Beliefs

1    All Scripture is given by the Spirit of Elohim (God), and is to be used for doctrine, reproof, correction and instruction in righteousness. 2 Timothy 3:16

2    Hear this Yisrael, Adonai is our Elohim. Adonai is One. Adonai alone is Elohim, and there is no Elohim beside him. Deuteronomy 6:4

3    The nature of Adonai is unlimited unity, being expressed through the aspects of Abba (the Father), Yeshua (the Son and Messiah) and Ruach Haqodesh (Holy Spirit) to everyone in our age. Matthew 28:19

4    Adonai and His Word are eternal, therefore He, His Word and His Will has always been, and will always remain, the same. Malachi 3:6, Hebrews 13:8,  Matthew 5:18; 24:35

5    The Shabboth (Sabbath), the seventh day of the week, is the created Holy Day of Adonoi, which He gave to all mankind, and through which he covenanted with His people forever. Exodus 31:16, Genesis 2:2-3, Isaiah 58:13-14, Matthew 12:8

6    Yeshua of Natzereth is the Messiah of Israel: Savior of the world, King of kings and Lord of lords. He is Adonai who appeared among mankind as a person, and is now glorified with all power in Heaven and Earth. John 1:12-14

7    Messiah Yeshua is the Passover Lamb for removal of sins. He died by execution on a tree, and rose from the dead in the third day of death. Everyone who repents of their sins, and trusts that Yeshua is Messiah, are forgiven their sins and enter a renewed covenant with Abba by Yeshua, and are inheritors of the promises Adonai made with Abraham and Israel. Isaiah 53, Romans 10:9-11, 1 Corinthians 5:7

8    The Brith Chadasha (Renewed Covenant) in Messiah Yeshua brings with it a new creation of the human spirit. The Torah (Law) of Adonoi is planted within the heart so that Ruach Haqodesh may indwell there. And an external immersion in water (mikveh) is performed to publicly declare that this has taken place. Jeremiah 31:31-34, Ezekiel 39:29

9    The various enablements (gifts) of Ruach Haqodesh are given with authority to all those who commit to Adonai and obey His commandments, and they thereby gain an endowment of power and boldness for witnessing. This is the immersion (spiritual mikveh) by Ruach Haqodesh. Isaiah 28:11-12, Luke 11:13, Acts 1:4-5; 2:4; 5: 32, 1 Cor 12: 1-13, Eph 1:13

10    The people of Adonai are a Holy Miqra (congregation), in order to gather and celebrate Him at His appointed Holy Feasts, and to shine as lights of truth in the darkness, and to be a royal priesthood to His service. Exodus 19:6, Leviticus 23, Matthew 16:18, 1 Peter 2:9.

11    The goals of the people of Adonai are:

A    To be followers of Yeshua the Messiah, and to mature into the example He has provided through the first disciples and the apostles sent out by them. Ephesians 4:13

B    To be Holy as our Abba is Holy. Therefore, we are to learn and act on those things which make us Holy in His sight. Leviticus 11:44-45, Ephesians 5:27

C     To be righteous (generous and just) and godly (discerning and forgiving) while involved with this world. Titus 2:12

D     To be clean, first within our conscious self, and then also in our outward behavior, as we grow in the Ruach (Spirit) and understanding of the Word. Psalm 51:10, 1 Thessalonians 4:7

E     To be full of love for one another, thus proving we are Yeshua's disciples; and caring for a lost world, to bring the message of the Yeshua Messiah to the Jew first and also to the Gentiles. John 13:34-35, Romans 1:16

12    The promised reward of a constant and faithful trust in Yeshua is the resurrection from the dead, leading to eternal life and ruling with Yeshua forever in the place where His Kingdom will rule. With His return, He will rule in Jerusalem, and will rule again in New Jerusalem of the New Creation forever. Revelation 19-22

13    Yeshua will judge all mankind of all acts and words ever committed. He will decide the sentence for punishment, and all those not meeting His standard will be sent away from His presence, into outer darkness and eternal punishment of the sin. Matthew 25:31-46, Revelation 20

14    Abba (the Father) will establish the Messiah's Kingdom as a union of the faithful Jewish people and His gathering of faithful Gentiles, and they shall live together as one Holy people with one Shepherd, who is Yeshua the Messiah -- and His Kingdom will have no end. Hosea 1-2, John 17, Romans 9:26, Ephesians 2, Acts 3:21

Hatz'haroth, Declarations

Messiah Yeshua said, "Whatever you bind in my name will be bound, and what you loose will remain loosed." The following issues involve things that are not commonly understood. With these professions we are opening our doors and fastening our fences in order to secure peace with all who will have peace...

The Holy Name:

The reading aloud or public mention of YHWH (Yod-Hey-Waw-Hey) is to be spoken as "the I AM" or "the Lord" in English, or as "Hashem" (the Name) or "Adonai" (the Lord) in Hebrew. Additionally, "Adonoi", "the Most High", or "Avinu (Our Father)" may be substituted as referring to the Holy Name. The Messiah declared that we should address Hashem as "Avinu" (Our Father), as an example of reverence, therefore similar forms should be employed within our fellowship and service.

Messiah's Name:

The name of our Messiah was and is Yeshua or Y'shua, meaning "salvation" or "restoration" in Hebrew. The popular use of "Yahshua" is not correct for Hebrew or Aramaic pronunciations of His name. Additionally, as a proper honor, it is preferable to refer to him with title, as "Messiah Yeshua," "Yeshua the Messiah" or "Adonai Yeshua," rather than as "Yeshua" alone.

Naming Authority:

The purpose of  a "name" in Hebrew is to establish "authority." Any reference to a name, by signature or referral, is sufficient to ascribe honor and demonstrate submission. Therefore, where it is important to know by what authority something is done, it is not necessary to vocalize the syllables of a name. When the Messiah said He came in His Father's Name, He was referring to the Father's Authority, and he was not vocalizing the Holy Name, rather, he called him Abba (Father).

The Torah:

The Torah refers to the Five Books of Moses (Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers and Deuteronomy), and it is the primary revelation of God's will. The entire body of  Hebrew Scriptures is called the Tanakh, and it contains the testimonies of God's people laboring with Torah.

The Chadasha:

The Chadasha is the New Testament, containing the Gospels and Epistles of Yeshua and the Messiah's disciples. The Gospels are the account of the Messiah's Torah observant life. The Epistles are the testimonies of the Messiah's disciples as they promoted the teachings of the Messiah and Torah among all the Gentile nations.

The Scriptures:

The Scriptures in our usage includes the Chadasha and Tanakh, but never refers to the Talmud or its parts. We do not consider the Talmud or any other commentary on Scripture (however helpful they might be) as the Word of God, but we do accept it as a sincere testimony of a people who are devoted to Adonoi.

Additionally, where the Torah is given to us for our spiritual protection, we do not rely upon it or its practice for our perfection or justification. Both perfection and justification are the result of a substantive trust in Messiah Yeshua. Nevertheless, Torah practice is an essential part of faithfulness with the God of Israel, and we encourage the practice of its minor parts as evidence of our trust in Yeshua the Messiah. But our Torah practice cannot include those parts which require residence in the Holy Land, a Priestly or Davidic government, the structure of the consecrated Temple upon Mount Moriah, or a genetic birthright as a Hebrew (if you are not a Jew), until these things are established again with the return of the Messiah.

The Tallith:

The traditional Tallith (prayer garment) and Kippah (head covering) may be worn by all men to facilitate our unity in prayer. The Tallith and Kippah are not commanded by Torah, but are traditional male garments for prayer. In substitution, women may wear prayer shawls and head decorations, when those items cannot be mistaken as a man's Tallith or Kippah.

The Tzitzith:

The Tzitzith (fringes or tassels) tied to the corners of the Tallith are commanded by Torah, and for any garment with corners. The Tallith is a vehicle for those Tzitzith, and they are to be conspicuous as a reminder to do all that God has commanded you to do in Torah. Therefore, as a continual reminder, the Tallith may be worn day or night for the purposes of prayer, with or without the blue thread attached to white Tzitzith, and it may be worn by either Jew or Gentile as a valid expression of piety and reverence to Abba (the Father) -- to whom we praise and petition, dressing in holy array, in order to honor.

Baruch Hashem.
